Half Time – March 12th

Define the Contest:

  1. The Master has given us some things.
  2. We are to invest what he has given us to produce a pleasing return for our Master.
  3. The contest is over when we die or the Lord returns.
  4. The Lord will judge our work and determine our rewards.

1st Half Game Plan

1.        Establish character  - by developing your spiritual disciplines.

Study Bible, prayer, meditation,

Christian fellowship, giving.

2.        Establish your areas of passion.

·         Try new things

·         Take some risks.

·         Don’t be afraid to fail.

3.        Establish Your competence.

·         Become excellent at what you do.

·         Learn all you can about all you can.

·         Find some mentors and encouragers and ask lots of questions.

4.           Combine your character with your experiences to establish your core values.

Half Time Questions:

1.      Am I missing anything in my life right now that’s important to me?

2.      What am I passionate about?

3.      Who am I?

4.      What do I value?

5.      What do I want to be doing in ten years? Twenty years?

6.      What gifts has God given me that are being perfected?

7.      What gifts has God given me that I haven’t really used?

8.      What would I be willing to die for?

9.      What resources has God placed in my hand?

10.  What realistic changes can I make in my employment?

11.  What is it about my job that makes me feel trapped?

12.  What immediate steps could I take to improve the 2nd half?

2nd Half Game Plan:

1.      Go from Independence to Interdependence.

2.      Pour yourself out.

3.      Develop a personal mission statement.

·         What do I do that is unique to me?

·         Who do I serve?

·         How are they helped?

4.      Run for the finish line!
